The government has so far registered only 1 million school going children in the ongoing registration of learners across the country and yet to register more 10 million in the next sixty days to beat the deadline.
Addressing journalists at media center, the state Minister for Primary Educations Rosemary Sseninde said that the Ministry of education and sports in collaboration with the National Identification and Registration Authority has since 5th May registered only one million learners from primary, secondary and primary technical institution.
She notes that they started with the distribution of registration forms, equipment and materials in the furthest districts in the country including Arua,Lira, Gulu, Moroto, Hoima, Kabaroli, Soroti and Kampala remaining with Jinja, Mbale, Masaka and luweero.
She notes that parents should cooperate and provide their children with their copies of national identity cards.
