Over 5 million learners have so far been registered in the ongoing mass registration exercise.
On 29th May this year, the National Identification Authority in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Sports and other stakeholder institutions embarked on the registration exercise of all school going children in all primary, post primary and secondary Schools in Uganda for better planning.
According to Gilbert Kadilo, the manager public relations and corporate affairs at NIRA, the exercise has unearthed a number of schools which were not registered by the ministry of education and were not on the original list.
He has also cited Poor cooperation between the administrators of the different schools and the NIRA team among others.
Meanwhile, he said the registration process will continue even after the deadline.
