The Police are heavily deployed at Kabale regional referral hospital ahead of the planned visit to the facility by independent presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi.
The deployment mainly seen at the hospital’s main gate was effected this morning after Mbabazi announced that he planned to visit the hospital to assess the situation.
By 8:30am two police patrol pickups with heavily armed police personnel were already packed at the Kabale regional referral hospital gate.
However, the Kabale regional referral hospital senior administrator David Tibemanya says the hospitals activities are going on well and they do not expect any politician to visit the hospital.
While the Kabale district police commander Dickens Bindeeba says it is a normal deployment that is not aimed and blocking any one from accessing the hospital.
Mbabazi started his campaigns in Kabale district yesterday and addressed several rallies in the counties of Rukiga Ndorwa and Kabale municipality where he also threatened to deal with the Kabale deputy resident district commissioner Denis Nzeirwe for blocking his supporters from attending his rallies.
He also resounded a warning to government agents against de-facing his campaign posters.
Responding to questions from the public, Mbabazi has denied claims that he has been stealing the FDC party votes to deny Dr. Kizza Besigye victory.
He also rubbished claims that he and president Museveni have eaten Uganda to the marrow during their 30 years in leadership.
