The prime suspects in the murder of child rights activist Kenneth Watmon Akena have been remanded to Luzira prison.
The suspects who include Cynthia Munwangari, her boyfriend Mathew Kanyamunyu and his brother Joseph Kanyamunyu were this afternoon produced separately at Nakawa Magistrates Court, each of them arrived aboard a police patrol pick-up truck.
The two brothers were each handcuffed, while the woman moved about freely.
Nakawa Grade One Magisttrate Sajabi Noah has sent them on remand up to Dec 6th when they return to court for mention of the case.
Prosecution led by Anne Ntimba and Itau Deborah have told court that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
Prosecution states that on 12th November 2016 along Kampala-Jinja road in Nakawa division, the accused with malice aforethought caused the death of Akena.
Akena was short in the stomach and died the following morning at Norvik hospital along Bombo road where he had been admitted at the Intensive Care Unit.
