A cute water scarcity has hit Lyantonde District leaving residents and herdsmen stuck without water to for domestic use.
The most affected areas are Kabatema, Nakaseta, Lwensali, and Kanoni among other places in Lyantonde rural sub county in Lyantonde district.
Water Shortage has been worsened by the current long dry spells that have affected most parts of the country.
Residents of claim that they have to trek at least 5 kilometers to access water in the neighboring villages.
Francis Mugumya Ntambazi the Kabuula County Chief, says that a big number of herdsmen in the district have started trekking with their animals in search for water in neighboring districts because of water crisis in Lyantonde.
He however, blames the long dry spells to environmental degradation asking people to start planting trees and move away from wetlands and swamps that have been encroached on.
