Mukono municipality MP Betty Nambooze underwent a successful 5 hour Spine Surgery on Wednesday at the Manipal Spine care center in India.
The operation medically known as laparoscopic lumbar spine surgery is performed by accessing the backbone through a tinny hole drawn in the stomach and a pipe is extended through it with help of a camera.
According to the Kampala lord mayor’s Personal assistant Elvis Kintu, doctors recommended for such an operation to avoid hurting her nerves, because another cut in the first scar would put the honorable life at risk.
Kintu meanwhile says Nambooze is now in intense pain following the adjustment doctors made on the spine but positively responding to treatment.
On July 4, 2018 Nambooze left the country for the second time to India for a special operation following what she called her brutal arrest by the police.
She was arrested on charges of inciting violence after the death of Arua Municipality MP Ibrahim Abiriga on June 8, 2018.
