The state minister for relief, disaster preparedness and refugees Musa Ecweru has called other African countries to adopt Uganda’s open-door policy to refugees.
Ecweru says for some countries to have their borders locked up is a hindrance to the spirit of brotherhood on the continent.
He has also called for a local approach to mitigating the refugee plight since most African are more so related and that a concerted effort will rid the continent of internally displaced people without shelter.
He made the remarks as he received a delegation from Hungary ahead on of a fact-finding mission n the state of refugee settlements across the country.
