12 family members of the Njiri cult have been arrested by police in Busia for refusing to be enumerated.

Michael Kibwika the Busia Resident Districts Commissioner says

The suspects arrested from Buyanga sub-county include two brothers; Joseph Wanyama Wabwire Siphoza.

“Taking today’s action is because we do not want this to sabotage proper planning of Uganda, and they were saying that God has already counted them already, but it is God who have created us and He says that you have to obey to your leaders, so if do not obey to your leaders who were brought by God then you will have a problem with Him and even Jesus Crist was counted on his horse so I wonder whether they have different Jesus from us.” Mr. Kibwika said.

These add to the scores that have been arrested in various parts of the country for sabotaging the census exercise that closes tomorrow.

The exercise will however continue for an extra day in Kampala, Mukono and Wakiso where the first day was disrupted by technical glitches.
