The Makerere University Electoral commission has revealed that 15 guild presidential candidates have been duly nominated to battle for the university’s top position in tomorrow’s guild elections.

Speaking to KFM, the student’s electoral commission chairperson Kenneth Isabirye says the list was verified by the academic registrar in accordance to the constitution to ineligibly vie for the position.

Isabirye says only one student has been disqualified due to irregularities in his academic marks.

He says all the candidates will have their final rally today at the freedom square with elections set for tomorrow with over 18000 students expected to cast their votes.

Stiff competition is between DPs Edward Kinene, Papa Were Salim and Andrew Taliwaku.
