The police force has increased its deployment to secure election campaigns at all levels.
The police spokesperson Mr.Fred Enanga has told the media that up to 160,000 police officers and close to 110,000 crime preventers have been deployed for this purpose.
This comes as parliamentary candidates begin their campaign that will be running alongside presidential and local council campaigns.
Enanga says the police are also set to increase its visibility across the country to avoid clashes among candidates.
He has also cautioned all candidates to follow electoral commission guidelines as well as avoid use of provocative and abusive language that spark violence.
