Minister Maria Kiwanuka

Parliament has passed a 4 trillion vote on account, which accounts for 30% of the total budget to run government agencies.

Yesterday, a 7 trillion shillings budget was tabled by State Minister of Finance, Aston Kajara however MPs rejected it on grounds that it was 50% of the total budget.

They also accused the Finance ministry of trying to smuggle in more expenditure which is illegal.

This afternoon, he presented estimates totaling to 4.4 trillion, which will keep government running as Parliament goes through the process of approving the 2014/2015 budget.
