46 More confirmed dead in Omusinga palace clash

Police in Rwenzori region has confirmed death of more 46 people in a scuffle during the take over the Omusinga palace yesterday evening.

By yesterday evening, UPDF soldiers were in heated fight with royal guard in an effort to disarm them as well as rescuing the omusinga who was allegedly under detention by his own royal guards.

According the Rwenzori west police spokesperson Mansul Soweli , during the scuffle , 46 were put out of action, and some UPDF soldiers got minor injuries.

He explained that currently Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere is in Kampala, and the situation in kasese town is gradually normalizing amidst tight security.
