The latest afrobarometer survey has shown a decline in performance ratings for Members of Parliament and district councilors.

This comes just a year into the current five-year term of the legislators and district councilors.

Presenting the survey findings, the Afrobarometer co-national investigator from Hatchile Consults limited Francis Kibirige said 6 in 10 Ugandans believe that their political leaders are more concerned with advancing their own ambitions than serving the interests of the people.

A total of 3,600 respondents were interviewed between September 2019 and January 2021 in 110 districts
