74% of Ugandans want Museveni to retire-poll

74% of Ugandans want president Museveni to retire after his current term of office that expires in 2021 while 11 per cent want him to rule for life.
This is according to the latest household survey conducted by Research World International
The survey shows that Ugandans have a negative opinion towards Social, Political, Economic and cultural issues in Uganda.
The research shows that out of 2,253 people interviewed 32% agree that the country’s socio- economic status is very bad while 23% say it’s fairly good.
32% of respondents said that since the 2016 General election their living conditions have not improved while only 3% have seen an improvement in their living conditions improving.
In the governance sector, 88% of respondents know their member of parliament but only 72% say they been consulted by their legislators.
When it comes to corruption, 54% of respondents say police is still the most corrupt institution; judiciary comes in second at 13%, parliament at 10% and KCCA at 2%.
On the hand the army is the most trusted institution with 26% of respondents saying they trust the country’s military. The judiciary comes in second at 24% followed by parliament at 10% and others.

Dr Patrick Wakida said respondents were drawn from 60 districts and the research was conducted between September and October 2016.
