Human rights defenders have tasked president Museveni to institute a special commission of inquiry to investigate and prosecute security personnel who are behind the torture of Ugandans.

President Museveni in his latest address warned security forces against torturing suspects in evidence gathering saying it is

He also asked security officers to stop beating Ugandans as they enforce SOPs but instead chase them.

The executive director Foundation for human rights initiative Dr. Livingstone Ssewanyana says the president should not stop at making orders but walk the talk.

He is also demanding that those who fallen victim to the abuse of security officers to be compensated.
