Kenya’s Electoral Commission is set to invite all eight candidates who took part in the August 8 presidential election to take part in the fresh poll.

This follows yesterday’s high court ruling that the October 26th election was a fresh poll and not a run off.

The Daily Nation reports that, the electoral commission has maintained the October 26 election date regardless of new developments.

Meanhwile, the opposition NASA candidate Raila Odinga, who had written to the commission quitting the race, has effectively been put back on the ballot.

A letter signed by the commission chairman Wafula Chebukati, indicates that until one signs the prescribed form of withdrawal, all the eight will be deemed as candidates for the October 26 race.
