The minister of works and Transport Mr John Byabagambi has appointed former Commissioner General of the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Ms Allen Kagina as the new Executive Director of the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA).

The news was broken by the UNRA spokesperson Mr Dan Alinange on his official twitter handle.

“The Minister of Works and Transport has appointed Mrs Allen Kagina as the new Executive Director of UNRA. We congratulate her,” Mr Alinange wrote.

“The Board of Directors and Staff of UNRA congratulate Mrs Allen Kagina on this appointment and welcome her,” He added.

Allen Kagina has too expressed her thanks and readiness to work to the general Ugandan population in her tweet.

“Thank you so much tweeps and non tweeps, I am blessed beyond measure by your goodwill msgs. We have a great work to do and together we will,” Kagina tweeted.

Ms Kagina replaces Mr Sebbugga Kimezze who had been acting in the position before he was suspended by UNRA board following a controversy surrounding the tender for the construction of the Mukono- Katosi road as well as the Standard Gauge Railway project.

Ms Kagina was at the helm of the revenue collection body for about 10 years before she retired in October last year.
