Another CCHF case confirmed in Agago

Two other patients have tested positive for the Congo Crimean Hemorrhagic fever bringing to three the total number of those in isolation in Kalongo Hospital in Agago district.

The District Director Health services Dr. Emmanuel Otto has confirmed the development.

He says the two who tested positive were part of the 21 people who were under observation although none of the remaining 19 people has developed any symptoms.

Meanwhile, Dr Otto says they are waiting for feedback from the government for the response plan and budget which they developed.

A team from the ministry of health is also on the ground to provide technical support in terms of surveillance and tracing contacts.

This is in addition to support being rendered by another team from the Centre for Disease Control.

The Crimean–Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is spread from animals to humans by infected ticks.

The first case was reported in the northern district of Agago about a week ago but the ministry of health informs the general public that the situation of is under control.
