Armed thugs have shot dead a man, who attempted to block them from making off with his sister’s bag containing Shs16m.

This was at Kevina Zone in Nsambya, a Kampala suburb.

Aron Owmungu, a brother to Ruth Ninsiima, a mobile money agent, was shot in the chest and died on the spot last night before the thugs jumped on the bodaboda motorcycle and fled the scene.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Partrick Onyango, confirmed the incident saying the thugs used an SMG rifle in the robbery.

According to police records, Ninsiima picked Shs16m from a shop around Container Village on Nakivubo Place Road; put it in her bag and the thugs trailed her up to her shop in Nsambya.
