The Nakawa Magistrate’s Court has extended criminal summons against Australia-based cardiologist Dr. Aggrey Kiyingi to May 26th.

This is after he again failed to appear in court following two earlier directives.

State Prosecutor Anne Ntimba has asked court for another adjournment to allow time for the DPP (Director of Public Prosecution) to prepare committal papers.

Kiyingi and five others are accused of terrorism and involvement in the murder of Muslim clerics.
Prosecution states that Dr. Kiyingi offered training, recruitment and logistical support to former ADF rebels who were reportedly hired to execute the two sheikhs, Mustafa Bahiga and Abdul Muwaya.

The five who appeared in court this morning will be committed to the High Court on May 26th.
The case is before Nakawa Grade One Magistrate Timothy Lumunye.
