Forum for Democratic change former presidential candidate  Dr. Kiiza Besigye has called upon courts’ of Judicature to rise up for their independence and put a stop to acts and people who use them to abuse the rights of the oppressed.

Besigye who had come to report back before the High court criminal registrar in fulfillment of his bail terms spoke to journalists after being given 17th/October as his new reporting date.

He has expressed disappointment that despite reporting back to the High court and Nakawa magistrates’ court for his treason case for the last 5 months, investigations into the case have neither ended nor hearing commenced.

Besigye also wonders why the DPP commences prosecutions in courts before concluding investigations.

He now says instead of the state charging him with treason, its president Museveni who should be in the dock.
