The BodaBoda 2010 patron Hajji Abdallah Kitatta has been sentenced to spend 8 years 8 months and 6 days in prison.

While his body guard Sowali Ngobi has been ordered to serve 8 years, 8 months and 8 days imprisonment.

The General Court Martial Chairman Lt Gen Andrew Gutti did not hand them a maximum sentences of 10 years on grounds that they are first offenders with no known criminal records.

He added that the contentious illegal guns never fired any bullet and considered the one year and 6 months they have spent on remand.

Lt Gen Gutti also advised Kitatta and colleague to appeal against his decision with in 14 days if dissatisfied.

Yesterday court found  Kitatta and Sowali guilty of being in possession of a firearm with out a valid licence.

The 7 member Court  unanimously ruled that evidence from the only the 4 prosecution witnesses was satisfactory enough to prove the charges against Kitatta and his body guard Sowali Ngobi.

Among the guns that Kitatta unlawfully possessed were; the famous gold pistol, an SMG riffle and 35 ammunition.
