Former Uganda Communications Commissions boss Patrick Musambu has won the International Telecommunications Satellite Organisation’s (ITSO) top job.
Uganda beat France and Spain in the first round. In the second round, Uganda beat France by 72 to 43 votes.
Patrick Masambu joined ITSO in May 2010 where he has been the Deputy Director General of Technical Affairs.
Prior to that he was the Chief Executive Officer of Uganda Communications Commission, a position he held for ten years.
He had earlier served a two year term as Chief Executive Officer Uganda Telecom.
The International Telecommunications Satellite Organisation is an intergovernmental organization that insures public telecommunications services, including voice, data and video are provided on a global and non-discriminatory basis.
The organisation which is headquartered in Washington D.C currently has a membership of 149 countries.
