Government has lifted the ban on plastic material popularly known as Kaveera.

According to the minister of information Jim Muhwezi, this is meant to allow the consultation process on the how to handle the ban on plastic material below 30 microns.

Muhwezi says a committee comprising ministers of trade, finance, water and environment, and official from NEMA and KACIITA will continue to consult and report back in six months.

He says until the process is done, Kaveera use can resume.

The ban had been enforced by NEMA in May this year.
