Meanwhile, with just hours to Christmas Day commodity prices continue to sky rocket.

One of the affected commodities is beef whose price has gone up to about Sh.10,000 up from the Sh.7,500 charged about a week ago in most centers.

The spokesperson of the Kampala City Abattoir Association Wilberforce Mutesasira says they expect the price to go even higher by tomorrow.

At the city Abattoir it is a bee hive of activities as many people flock the place make their last minute purchases.

In Rakai district however residents are likely to miss beef on their Christmas menu.

This follows an outbreak of foot and mouth disease, prompting quarantine on live stock in the district.

Some have opted for the traditional Christmas Turkey.
