Government through the ministry is pushing for adoption of cleaner energy alternatives as one way to conserve the environment.

However Assistant commissioner renewable Energy in the ministry of Energy and Mineral development John Tumuhimbise says adoption of these technologies remains low in Uganda.

He attributes this to among others mindset to the traditional technologies and the high cost of the modern technologies.

Efforts to promote use of clean cooking energy in Uganda are currently being spear headed by the Uganda National Alliance on Clean Cooking (UNACC)
