The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC)has approved acquisition of Orange telecom by Africell telecom.

Africell, a Pan-African telecom group had earlier expressed interest in buying off Orange telecom, but the deal did not materialize and was forced to only buy a small percentage of shareholding.
