General Muhoozi Kainerugaba the Chief of Defense Force (CDF) has eulogised Brig. Gen. Stephen Kiggundu for his professional and passionate service to Uganda

General Muhoozi, says the late Deputy Commander of Air Force, Brig. Gen. Kiggundu played an instrumental role in restoring and maintaining peace and security in the country.

His eulogy was delivered by Major General Leopold Kyada at the burial of the late Brig Gen Kiggundu, which was held on Thursday evening at his ancestral home in Masindi District.

“The UPDF is saddened by the loss of such a senior and professional officer whose input was still much needed. We, therefore, join the family, relatives, and friends at this most difficult time to mourn the fallen comrade whom we shall always remember,” he noted.

Brig Gen Kiggundu died on March 31, 2024, at his official residence in Entebbe. He was reportedly electrocuted in his bathroom.

Brig Gen Kiggundu joined the forces on July 27, 1999, and was commissioned to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant on May, 29, 2002, and served in various capacities until 2022 when he was promoted to the rank of Brig Gen, under which he served until his death.
