Cholera re-surfaces in Sironko

Two men suffering from cholera rest while receiving treatment at an emergency cholera clinic run by Samaritan's Purse outside of Cabaret, Haiti. Despite the work of aid organization, over 89,000 have been infected so far.

A fresh outbreak of cholera has been reported in Eastern Uganda in Sironko district less than two months after several people were affected by the disease.

The latest outbreak has seen three people hospitalized.

Early this year Cholera affected areas of Mbale and Sironko leaving over 10 people dead and scores bedridden.

The Sironko Resident District Commissioner, Moses Wamoto Kigayi says the three were treated after showing signs of the disease.

The affected where all from Budadiri East constituency.

He says more isolation centers havebeen set up to handle any cholera related case.
