City businessman Shumuk charged before court

Bonny Katatumba, who says his life was threatened

City business man Shukla Mukesh popularly known as Shumuk has been charged with conspiracy to murder city tycoon Bonny Katatumba.

Shumuk appeared before Makindye Court grade one magistrate Flavia Nabakooza and pleaded not guilty to the charge.

He is jointly charged with one Hassan Wandera who is currently on remand at Luzira prison.

Prosecution alleges that Shumuk, the managing director of Shumuk group of companies in the month of January 2012 in Kampala conspired with others to murder Bonny Katantumba.

He has been released on a cash bail of two million shillings and also ordered to deposit his passport before court.

The magistrate has adjourned the case until March 7th for hearing after prosecution informed court that investigations into the matter are complete.
