Committee tasks Kagina

David Kugonza | December 13, 2016

Parliament’s committee on commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises has tasked the executive director of Uganda National Roads Authority, Allen Kagina to explain the delayed works on the construction of Kamwenge-Fort Portal Road.

Officials led by Kagina were appearing before the committee answer audit queries highlighted in the 2014-2015 Auditor General’s Report.

The matter raised by Kibaale county MP Eng.Cuthbert Abigaba questioned why UNRA has failed to complete the road, whose set deadline was January this year.

Abigaba further called for a forensic audit on the road works done so far to determine whether there is value for over Shs 120bn given to Chinese Railway Seventh Group Company (CRSG) to construct the road.
