Residents of Kyondo village in Kasese Municipality woke up to the shocking sight of two bodies of their neighbors.

The residents found the man hanging on a tree while his wife’s body lay lifeless in their matrimonial bed and their two year old baby crying helplessly.

Police have identified the dead as 30 year old Enosmus Byamukama and his wife Happiness Nesigomwe.

According to the Rwenzori region police spokesperson, Bakali Bashir Mugah, Byamukama allegedly strangled his wife to death after they had an argument before committing suicide.

Bakali says they recovered a suicide note believed to have been written by Byamukama claiming that his wife was disrespecting him and he could not tolerate it anymore.

He says the post mortem confirmed that the wife was strangled to death and the man actually committed suicide.
