Demo calling for the re-opening of MUK still on – FDC

David Kugonza | November 28, 2016

Forum for Democratic Change has warned government that it will not back off the Friday demo, calling for the re-opening of Makerere University.

Addressing journalists at FDC Offices along Katonga road in Nakasero, Margaret Wokuri the FDC Secretary for education maintains that the closure was erroneously done.

She says that the ten day ultimatum issued by former FDC Presidential candidate rtc Col Dr Kizza Besigye ends on Thursday and on Friday, the demo will be staged at the university and will aim at fundraising for lecturers’ salary.

President in October closed the university after students took to rioting following a prolonged sit down strike by lecturers over delayed payment.
