The Democratic Party has threatened to drag government to court over its proposal to create 43new counties.

The request was tabled before parliament last month drawing mixed reaction from a cross section of the political players.

Now the Democratic Party President Norbert Mao says he has already directed a team of their legal officials to follow up the matter.

In a separate development the party has set 29th August as the date for swearing in of its newly elected party members.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Mao DP says they also plan to hold a meeting on Friday with the national executive committee on how the entire exercise will be conducted.
