By Ruth Anderah.

An 87 year old retired medical Doctor Muhammad Buule Kasasa has denied grabbing Mutungo Hill Land belonging to Sir Edward Muteesa.

Dr.Kasasa denied the allegations before the Commission of inquiry into Land matters chaired by Justice Catherine Bamugemereire sitting in Wandegeya.

Dr. Kasasa says he bought the 639 acreage Land from a Company called Lake View Properties whose Director and former Minister in Obote’s regime, Lawrence Sebalu approached him, over a bank loan he had failed to pay and that he had mortgaged the certificate of title to the disputed land which was going to be taken by Barclays bank.

Dr.Kasasa says through his lawyer the late Nsubuga Nsambu,  he helped Sebalu settle the Loan at 1 million shillings, and the said  Land was transferred to him and he also received 60 certificates of titles to this effect.

The Commission Chaired by Justice Catherine Bamugemereire then demanded to know under what circumstances he sold the disputed land to government, to which he said that it was in 1996 when he found a Military Detach on his land and discovered that government was interested in the land.
