Dumba warns students on tuition

David Kugonza | December 29, 2016

Makerere University students who will not have cleared tuition by the 16th January 2017 risk missing Exams.

According to a letter issued yesterday by the Vice Chancellor of the university Prof. John Dumba Ssentamu, all students must complete tuition by the set deadline of 16th January.

Speaking to KFM, Dumba has argued that the time during which the university has been closed should have given parents ample time to raise money for tuition.

The university was closed by president Museveni on the 1st of November following a strike by lecturers over delay in paying their incentive arrears that had accumulated since February 2016.

However, in a recent meeting the lecturers agreed to resume lectures on 2nd of January 2016.
