The Forum for Democratic Change has hailed parliament for standing its ground on the Sh6 billion Golden Hand shake.

This comes a day after petitioners withdrew the Speaker of Parliament earlier described as a stupid court order barring parliament or any section of the public from debating, investigating or questioning the manner in which the money was shared among 42 government officials who took part in the Heritage Oil tax gains case in London.

Addressing the media at the FDC Activists’ offices along Katonga road in Kampala, the party national Chairperson Wasswa Biriggwa said the decision by Speaker Rebecca Kadaga was an action of defiance which yielded results.

The Speaker Rebecca Kadaga on Tuesday this week suspended the house indefinitely protesting what she called attempts by the executive and judiciary to gag the legislature.
