Musician and Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party’s flag bearer for the Kawempe North by-election, Mukiibi Sadat, also known as Khalifa Aganaga, has pledged to push for the copyright bill until it is signed into law.

Speaking to the media at the party’s head offices in Najjanankumbi on Monday, Aganaga noted that his constituency has a large number of talented young people who need protection. He urged musicians, comedians, poets, and others to support him in ensuring the bill’s passage.

“I will add my voice to legislate for the copyright law. Kawempe is one of the constituencies in Uganda that have brought musicians like Jose Chameleone, Sheebah Karungi, and myself, among others. When I am elected as the Member of Parliament, I will advocate for the passing of the copyright bill,” he said on Monday.

Aganaga also promised to address the poor drainage system, which is exacerbated by rain, and to provide free Wi-Fi in Kawempe’s low-income areas, among other initiatives.
