FDC’s Dr Besigye Arrested Again

Former Forum for Democratic Change presidential candidate Dr.Kiiza Besigye has again been arrested and whisked off to an unknown destination.

Besigye was arrested by police this afternoon as a group of opposition leaders including City Lord mayor Erias Lukwago visited him at his home in Kasangati in Wakiso district following his return from the US where he had been for about two weeks.

The police had set barricades at the entrance of Besigye’s home blocking his guests, which prompted him to come out and engage in a bitter exchange with police officers that had surrounded his home.

Before Besigye’s arrest, a scuffle ensued between him and police officers after he asked the police to remove their barricades but when they seemed adamant, the visibly angry Besigye engaged them physically.
