Football awards launched

The Bell Super League footballer of the year awards have been launched today, with the ceremony set for 29th June.
The awards meant to reward quality football in the country have 15 categories lined up, in which players are competing.
The biggest award of the footballer of the year has 4nominees who include Kizito Lwanga who plays for Bunamwaya FC, Kizito Luwaga of Express FC, George Abego of Maroons and URA’s Robert Sentongo.
The other awards include Goal keeper of the year, midfielder of the year, defender of the year and top scorer of the year, among others.
The awards will also include the Fair play award as well as the lifetime achievers award.
Speaking at the launch of the awards today, the Uganda Super League Manager Paul Kabaikaramu said they are meant to boost the sport in the country and encourage quality football.
