The former Gender, Labour and Social Development Minister Zoe Bakoko Bakuru returns home on Friday, next week, ending her 10 year self-imposed exile in the United States.

Bakoko and the president met in New York last year and the two reconciled.

One her daughters Cecilia Faith Bakoko, says her mother wants to come and serve her country.

Minister Bakoko, whose docket included political supervision of the National Social Security Fund fled after being indicted alongside the Fund’s board chairman Onegi Obel for allegedly causing a 12bn shilling loss of workers’ money when they signed off a deal for housing development at Nsimbe estates.

Fearing arrest, the minister who was on official trip to the US decided to remain there, while Onegi-Obel has since been acquitted.
