Four people have been arrested by police in Jinja for allegedly involving in election violence.

The Kiira Region police spokesperson Abbey Ngako said the suspects are said to have a hand in the violence that erupted in Buwenge Town Council during the just concluded LC3 election.

Ngako said the violence that was between supporters of Hassan Kinusa the winner and Ngobi Mwesigye left property vandalized and people injured.

He said other suspects were earlier arrested but the four escaped and are on the wanted list.

Ngako said police are holding them at Buwenge police station to help in investigations.
