Former Chief of Defence Forces also state minister for works, Gen Katumba Wamala has today visited Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zake, whom he allegedly punched during the fracas in parliament last Wednesday.

According to Zake’s father Emmanuel Mutebi, Gen Katumba has asked the family not to let what happened at parliament destroy their relationship.

In a video captured inside parliament, Gen Katumba is seen punching Zaake who was going physical with security operatives who raided parliament soon after Speaker, Rebecca Kadaga suspended 24 legislators over alleged breach of rules of procedure.

Zake who has since been admitted at Rubaga hospital for treatment says the punches he took from Gen Katumba caused him to lose consciousness.

Earlier, while addressing journalists at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi, the opposition Forum for Democratic Change deputy spokesperson Paul Mwiru asked Gen.Wamala to apologize to the nation for allegedly assaulting a legislator.

However, in an interview with NTV on Sunday, Gen Wamala denied punching Zake, instead accusing the media of exaggerating the reports.
