The government has revealed plans to have CCTV cameras installed at the workplace to protect workers from sexual harassment.

This comes amid growing skepticism over the effectiveness of CCTV cameras in tackling the increasing crime rate in the country.

According to the Minister in Charge of General Duties in the Office of the Prime Minister, Mary Karooro Okurut, these are to eb installed in offices, schools, shopping malls, health care facilities and other places in the public setting.

The minister says CCTV cameras will help ease investigation of cases of abuse at the workplace.

Karooro was speaking as the chief guest during the Presidential Initiative on Banana Industrial Development (PIBID) Labor day celebrations held at the project site in Nyaruzinga Bushenyi town.
