Kampala City Traders Association (KACITA), together with ride-hailing company, Safe Boda have petitioned the government seeking an end to the curfew that is still imposed on commercial cyclists commonly known as boda bodas.

President Museveni recently lifted curfew for all the sectors, except the boda-boda industry.

Addressing a joint press conference, KACITA spokesperson Issa Sekito said maintaining curfew on boda-boda cyclists is discriminatory, urging government to review its decision.

He says the boda-boda industry is employing the majority of the youth and therefore keeping it in curfew while other sectors of the economy are open is a mistake that should be corrected.
