The National Curriculum Development Center (NCDC) is stuck with a draft of a new condensed curriculum for learners, slightly over a month before schools reopen next January.

The Center’s executive Director, Dr Grace Baguma says processing of the new curriculum has stalled because the Education ministry has failed to release shs 13 billion required for the exercise.

In addition, there is also no teachers’ manual, a key document that details to a teacher the critical changes made in a new curriculum from the standard version.

This guide according to professional teachers helps a teacher to revise lesson preparation and deliver customized teaching and learning.

A source has told kfm that the development will see schools unlikely to reopen as planned or if classes resume, teachers will require separate orientation to teach the revised curriculum.

The Education ministry Spokesperson, Dr Denis Mugimba says he is not sure whether the money was released or not.
