The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) representative in Uganda, Antonio Querido has tipped government on fighting food insecurity in different parts of the country.

He said that government should focus on increasing food distribution in areas of scarcity noting that there are many parts of the country which have food in plenty that need to share with those who don’t have.

Querido also advised the government to invest heavily in irrigation schemes in drought-prone areas.

He was speaking to the media at the dissemination of the evidence-generation support study that will help the government in prioritizing investments for economic recovery after Covid-19 shocks.
