Government through the ministry of energy and mineral Development has committed to continue supporting oil companies in execution of their plans.

The commitment has been made by the ministry’s permanent secretary Eng Irene Batebe at the ongoing ceremony for announcement of the Final investment decision.

Eng Batebe noted that once this is done, work is to intensify, calling for more coordination and collaboration between the different ministries Departments and Agencies in the next phase of the project

She however also tasked the oil companies to pay attention to issues of environmental social governance and ensure they do their work in an environmentally social manner.

The event has been graced by the presence of President Museveni and the Deputy vice president of Tanzania Dr Phillip Mpango who is representing President Samia Hassan Suluhu.
