With the weekly weather forecast at Climate Center in Nairobi predicting that the unbearable heat is far from over, experts have advised on how to deal with excessive heat and dust to avoid health complications.

ICPAC works with national weather stations in the region including Uganda National Meteorological Authority whose Principal Public Relations Officer, Lillian Nkwenge says that the December- February dry season will continue despite the interruption by what she calls off-season or isolated rains.

Now, Dr Bruce Kirenga, the Director of the Makerere University Lung Institute, advises that those who can, plan to work during the morning and evening time to avoid getting dehydrated.

He says hot and dusty weather affects anyone including children, but some people are more at-risk groups are those with breathing-related conditions like asthma.
