42 admitted to hospital with cholera in Namayingo district

A cholera outbreak in Namayingo district has left forty two people hospitalized.

The Assistant District Health Officer, Veronica Mukyala says most of the cases are admitted atBuyinja Health Center IV, while others are at the Red Cross Hospital in Busia.

Mukyalasays other cases have been reported in Bulundira, Busiro, Lugala and Banda Sub Counties, causing fears that the disease could spread even further.

This is the second outbreak of Cholera in the district in the last 2 years.

The last one in May 2014 claimed the lives of 3 people and several others were admitted atMutumba and Buyinja Health Centers.
